Coles Rochedale is a staged masterplan in one of Brisbane’s outer suburbs which has seen significant growth in recent times. Construction has developed over three stages over the 3.99ha site which includes a 4,140m² Coles shopping centre and a landscaped Town Square connecting the surrounding residential areas to the centre. 

A key challenge was relocating an existing church to another part of the site and integrating it into the masterplan.  

Sited at the entry to Lend Lease’s Yarrabilba master planned community, this new Coles development includes a 3,260m2 supermarket with over 200 car parks. The project received an efficient development approval through the Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) process with Mainbrace Constructions starting work on site at the beginning of 2017. The POWE team worked closely with contractor and client to develop a thorough set of detailed documents allowing Mainbrace to complete the project to a high quality ahead of programme. Coles opened their doors in November 2017 with the medical facility and McDonalds restaurant also trading as part of the site’s overall masterplan.

The feedback from Coles and the local community has been fantastic and completing this project was an incredibly rewarding way to finish off the year. Congratulations to the Coles and Mainbrace teams for their efforts on a very successful project.

This 1.38 hectare site located in central Alderley along South Pine Road, brings the local community a new state-of-the-art Coles supermarket and adjoining Liquorland. The new 4,000m2 market-style Coles supermarket features an open fresh produce section, continental delicatessen, in-store butcher and bakery and also provides more than 200 convenient car parking spaces. The final schematic design includes a second stage for commercial developments to also take full advantage of the pivotal, transit oriented site to Brisbane’s north.

Horizon @ Wellington Point consists of 200m2 of specialty retail, 100m2 of external lettable area and 450m2 of offices. POWE Architects were engaged for the design and documentation of Stage One of the projects, with allowances for the construction of a future retail expansion as Stage Two. 

Coles Sippy Downs is a staged masterplan development in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast regional growth area. Stage One includes a 4500m² Coles supermarket and specialty retail. Later stages of the masterplan include three multi-story apartment buildings, raising the total GFA to over 18,000m²

Located in one of South-East Queensland’s most rapidly growing suburbs, Narangba Heights Retail will introduce a supermarket, numerous speciality retail shops, food and drink outlets and service station. The site is nestled in a corner of Moreton Bay’s hinterland, with the buildings blending into their surrounding context and by utilising sub-tropical design elements.

Coomera Service Centre is the first stage of redevelopment of over 4.3ha of land located off the Pacific Highway near Exit 54. Stage one includes a Shell (Viva Energy) service centre and truck stop plus 284m2 of drive-thru retail tenancy space.

The fuel and multiple drive thru fast food convenience centre at North Lakes was completed in 2013. The centre is located on a prominent Bruce Highway site, and is anchored by major tenants KFC and Gloria Jeans with included drive thrus while Caltex provides the fuel outlet and convenience shopping. 

This new community centre in Buderim provides a safe and convenient resident experience in a modern space which maximises its natural setting. The centre is an integral part of a well-established retirement living community. Important considerations for quality and durability in materials and finishes to achieve low maintenance costs and at the same time a high level of hazard minimisation to provide Lend Lease with a strong and consistent asset value growth.

Located on vacant land off Maroochydore Road, the development carefully considers the undulating site levels and provides extensive landscaping addressing each frontage including a connection to the proposed bush walking track along the adjacent Martins Creek. The centre offers over 4,900m² GFA of specialty retail shops, fast-food restaurant and a 3,600m² Coles shopping centre.
