Following a lengthy development approval process, we’re excited to be progressing the Buderim Retail Centre into Design Development. As announced in our article, What’s New in Buderim?, the centre received approval through a Planning and Environment Court decision in November last year and was subsequently listed for sale as reported in the Courier Mail’s PrimeSite. Since then, the 4,753m2 Coles anchored complex was purchased by developer and builder Comiskey Group who are targeting to start site works in mid-2018. An economic needs analysis found that the area is in demand of the major full line supermarket which will be accommodated by an upgrade to the Jones Road network. Located between two major road networks and adjacent a waterway and Energex substation means the site presents several challenges for the documentation team. The design of the centre addresses the significant level differences across the site while incorporating a materials palette inspired by the natural bush surrounds. The POWE team is looking forward to working with Comiskey Group over the coming months to provide a high-quality shopping experience to the residents of north Buderim.
